Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Generous and recording, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
