AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Your Lord is the Creator, the Knower. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
