Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
