Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in an exalted garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
