Do you not consider those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah - how are they averted? 69 those who reject the Book and that with which We sent Our messengers shall soon know -- 70 When the fetters and chains are round their necks they shall be dragged 71 into boiling water and then they will be burned in the fire. 72 and then they will be asked, "Where are those whom you associated [with God]?" 73 "In derogation of Allah?" They will reply: "They have left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray. 74 They will be told, "This (torment) is the result of your unreasonable happiness on the earth and of your propagation of falsehood. 75 Enter the gates of hell to abide therein, evil then is the abode of the proud. 76 So be patient, [O Muhammad]; indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And whether We show you some of what We have promised them or We take you in death, it is to Us they will be returned. 77 We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods. 78
