Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his nation, saying: 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them' 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 He will forgive you your sins, and will defer you to an appointed term. Verily the term of Allah when it cometh shall not be deferred, if ye but knew. 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I told them: 'Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain, 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
