The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
