Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 till the Day the time whereof is known [to Me alone]." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44
