And whatsoever of affliction befalleth you is owing to that which your hands have earned; and He pardoneth much. 30 And you cannot escape in the earth; and you have neither a friend nor any supporter against Allah. 31 Among His signs are the ships sailing like mountains on the sea: 32 If it be His Will He can still the Wind: then would they become motionless on the back of the (ocean). Verily in this are Signs for everyone who patiently perseveres and is grateful. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 and those who answer their Lord, and perform the prayer, their affair being counsel between them, and they expend of that We have provided them, 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is inflicted on them, (are not cowed but) help and defend themselves. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment. 42 But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs. 43
