The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 and a few from later times. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and spreading shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruits abounding 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
