Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those on the right side. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until death approached us". 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
