Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
