Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
