He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 you attended to him, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
