The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Woe unto every slanderer, traducer, 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 The Fire of God kindled 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
