Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
