Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
