The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
