And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
