Hizb 46

AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And there were those who said, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
