S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication. 7 "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! 8 Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 and the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the Wood -- these were the confederates. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
