The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
