Al-Mu' minoon 3 of 6
And said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people and belied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had luxuriated in the life of the world: this is no other than a human being like unto you; he eateth of that whereof ye eat, and he drinketh of that which ye drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 This man has forged a mere lie in the name of Allah and we shall never believe what he says." 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book that people might be guided by it. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them shelter on an elevated ground, sequestered, watered by a spring. 50

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
