Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
