So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
