The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
