Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Yea, turn thy vision [upon it] again and yet again: [and every time] thy vision will fall back upon thee, dazzled and truly defeated. 4 And assuredly We have bedecked the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for satans: and for them We have gotten ready the torment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the resort. 6 When they are cast into that [hell,] they will hear its breath indrawing as it boils up, 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 They will say: "If we had listened and been wise, we would not have been among the inmates of Hell." 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 But those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, for them there is forgiveness and a great wage. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
