He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And he fears, 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Not one – he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 fruits, and grass. 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Dust shall cover them 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
