The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 and guard their private parts 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
