And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
