The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
