The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ ALIF LAM MIM. 1 The Romans are vanquished, 2 In a nearer land; and they, after the overcoming of them, shall soon overcome. 3 in a few years. To Allah belongs the Command before and after, and on that Day the believers will rejoice 4 With the help of Allah. He helps whom He will, and He is exalted in might, most merciful. 5 The promise of God! God fails not His promise, but most men do not know it. 6 They know the outward of this world's life, but of the hereafter they are absolutely heedless. 7 Do they not think for themselves that God did not create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them without reason and a determined purpose? But many men reject the meeting with their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled through the land and seen what end their predecessors met? They were mightier than them: they cultivated the earth more and built more upon it than these have ever built. Their own messengers also came to them with clear signs: God did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. 9 And once again: evil is bound to be the end of those who do evil by giving the lie to God's messages and deriding them. 10
