The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you enveloped in your cloak! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 purify your garments; 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
