The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness. 1 Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play, 2 Their hearts trifling; and those who are unjust counsel together in secret: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves; what! will you then yield to enchantment while you see? 3 He said: "My Lord knows well all that is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He is All-Hearing, All- Knowing." 4 They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." 5 Not one habitation that We destroyed before them had believed. So how can they believe? 6 And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation, so ask the followers of the reminder if you do not 7 And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals, 8 Then We were true to the promise, We saved them together with those whom We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason? 10
