The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created the human being 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
