Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
