And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor a loving friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
