(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And ease my task for me; 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 And let him share my task, 32 That we may exalt You much 33 "And remember You much, 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 We had already shown you favor 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 HE IT IS who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has traced out for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, and [who] sends down waters from the sky: and by this means We bring forth various kinds of plants. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
