Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
