Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 As if about to explode with rage; whenever a group is thrown into it, the guardians of hell will ask them, “Did not a Herald of Warning come to you?” 8 They will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!"' 9 They will say: 'If we had only listened and understood, we would not be among the inmates of the Blazing Fire.'” 10 Thus will they confess their sins. Damned are these inmates of the Blazing Fire. 11 Verily! Those who fear their Lord unseen (i.e. they do not see Him, nor His Punishment in the Hereafter, etc.), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Can He who has created not know (His creation)? He is all-penetrating, all-aware. 14
