Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
