The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 on a Great Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A book inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
God the Almighty always says the truth.
