۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 What, do we then not die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
