And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
