Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 And his wife, the portress of fire wood, 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
