People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them; 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 about what they did. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
