Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
