Have the unbelievers not ever considered that the heavens and the earth were one piece and that We tore them apart from one another. From water We have created all living things. Will they then have no faith? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm mountains lest it should move away with them, and We placed therein passages for paths, that haply they may be guided. 31 and We set up the heaven as a roof well-protected; yet still from Our signs they are turning away. 32 And He it is Who has created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orbit floating. 33 We granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here): if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently? 34 Every human being is bound to taste death; and We test you [all] through the bad and the good [things of life] by way of trial: and unto Us you all must return. 35 When the unbelievers see you, they take you only for mockery, saying: 'Is this he who talks about your gods' While they are unbelievers in the Remembrance of the Merciful. 36 Man was created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not impatiently urge Me. 37 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 38 If only the disbelievers realised the time when they will not be able to stop the fire from their faces and from their backs – and nor are they to be helped. 39 Nay, but [the Last Hour] will come upon them of a sudden, and will stupefy them: and they will be unable to avert it, and neither wilt they be allowed any respite. 40 Many apostles have been scoffed before you; but they who scoffed were themselves caught by what they had ridiculed. 41
