WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 on the right and on the left in groups? 37 What, is every one of them eager to be admitted to the Garden of Bliss? 38 No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know. 39 Now I do call to witness the Lord of all points in the East and the West that We can certainly- 40 to replace them with [people] better than they are; for there is nothing to prevent Us [from doing what We will]. 41 So leave them alone to plunge and play, until they encounter the Day which they are promised; 42 The Day whereon they will issue from their sepulchres in sudden haste as if they were rushing to a goal-post (fixed for them),- 43 with downcast eyes and faces distorted in shame; such is the Day which they are promised. 44
