The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
